This 12 Big Motor Yoke GE antique electric fan has been in my collection since the mid 1980’s. I used it for many years as a bedroom fan as it makes a nice relaxing sound for sleeping. The brass parts were polished and lacquered then and the oil cups cleaned and new wicks fitted along with Royal Purple lubricant. The fan runs great on all three speeds and is smooth as it has a well balanced blade. The power speed switch to motor wiring cable was replaced with new cloth covered wire. The fan has been well cared for. It’s a great dependable fan with a nice patina. It has the original paint and intact painted speed numbers on the base. Still has the black paper insulator cover on the speed switch with remnants of the paper label. All three speeds work. In the early 1980’s I heard about and joined the American Fan Collectors Association which became the Antique Fan Collectors Association when I was the third President of the group. The AFCA is the world premier fan collector organization and has members all over the world.
