WELCOME TO MR WOODY’S GOODY’S. We would like to extend our thanks all customers old and new. May all those you care about be well and safe. May your life be blessed. Antique 1920’s Graybar Rare 17 Brass Table Fan – Works Likely been in the family since new and spent a long time on Grandparents front in screened porch in the summer and yet out of the way of foul weather. This fan moves a lot of air and has adjustable speeds. Has the push bar on and off that has different speeds that work something like a contact bar as you push it. This is heavy and measures roughly 17 inches at the widest point of the front fan blade guard. Notice the stunning curves on the front view of the fan front shield. Huge 9 diameter base. I replaced from the fan to the electrical outlet has been replaced with replica cloth cord but has original plug I did not touch anything else cord wise it was as I received it from mom and dad. As I received it – Has never been restored. Fans are relatively easy to restore especially if they work like this one does. There are very good youtube videos on this. This has an adjustable oscillating adjustment on the rear. Fan has adjustment to tilt up or down. This unit certainly moves a lot of air on high. This is heavy and not likely to move around and this fan especially for its size and the air is moves is quiet. It has some aging on it being roughly 100 years old and been used. It is missing the little rubber tip on the speed control but you can still find them on websites. This worked well in my large Victorian home but this home is to small for this size of fan and I have many family vintage cool fans smaller in size. So time to move this to someone else to enjoy and possibly restore. Why did I not restore it? It has family history as it is and wanted to keep it as such. Just my preference is all. There were not to my knowledge a lot of early makers of 17 inch table fans. Many stand fans but not a lot of table fans. You will find a lot of 10″ and 12″ perhaps a 13 and Graybar was one of the ones known for quality and built to last and some of the higher dollar fans made for its time period. This is on its third generation family. Ready to move onto next generation of owner(s). It may have age and patina and etc on this but it is a beauty in its own right and a fan person will agree with that. If your looking just for a cheap fan for your home, this is not it. If you want a fan that will likely be around a lot longer than you will, this may be the one. This was my grandparents, my parents and mine and as the old saying goes… Likely just getting broke in :0 Can you say that about the new fans of today. Cross listed and subject to prior sale.
