Vintage Peerless Type 460826 Brass Bladed Oscillating Fan. This listing is for an antique Peerless electric fan, type 460826, in excellent working condition. It has undergone small amounts of refurbishment; I have replaced the old cord with a correct quality vintage-style cloth covered cord and plug from the base to plug. The cord from the base to the motor is original, and in good vintage condition. The cage is in the original baked-on enamel from the factory, in great condition. The blades have been beautifully shined, and have a lovely glow when operating. All 3 speeds work perfectly, as well as the off setting. Please note, this item doesnt have a starter capacitor, so it takes a small amount time to come up to speed. It also has working adjustable oscillation. I did not replace any of the original electronics/ gearing, and did not mess with anything else beyond re-wiring the base cord. The motor is oiled, and functions perfectly. The badging plate on the base is unbroken and is solidly riveted still, it still has portions of it legible, but the paint has taken some wear from being right under the switch. Luckily the numbers are all stamped, so they are perfectly legible still. The front decal is in very good condition compared with what you normally see. The red of “Peerless” is in great shape, the only noticeable wear is a little bit of the black semi circle. The small bracket piece that holds the motor to the base was badly cracked apart. I reassembled it and made it a solid whole with special metal glue. It is near impossible to see that this piece was damaged with the naked eye when the fan is assembled. I believe this piece to be as strong as before it was broken, however I would advise care when adjusting your tilt-settings, as too much pressure could damage it in new spots. Overall an excellent piece for collectors, display, use, or Gifting!
