Antique 1910s Emerson Electric Ceiling Fan Ornate 52 Cast Iron Original USA. Original Made in U. Oil Bath Antique Ceiling Fan from La Grange, Texas Ceiling Fan. Ornamental 52 Cast Iron Emerson Ceiling Fan. In used unrestored condition with an old paint over in an ivory color likely sometime during the last 75 years. You might remember the “Chicken Ranch” which was subsequently made famous by the 1978 muscial “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas”, then later in the 1982 movie starring Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds. It was, however, arguably made legendary by the rock band ZZ Top in their song “La Grange”. Power has been applied to see if it runs and it does, though we are sure it will need restoration work before installation. This fan has paint chips, soil, oxidation, grime and general aged wear from decades of use. It has the original 15 degree cast iron brackets, but the blades appear to be fabricated though they are very old. This fan was manufactured between circa 1910 through about 1917 in St. Louis, MO by Emerson Electric. It comes with the original hanging hook that was removed when the fan was taken down.
