Manufactured in then British era Bombay (Mumbai) in 1940. The metal label is marked– “Crompton Kistna Fan 56″ BBIC B. A No 367 Volts 220/230 -50 Crompton Parkinson Bombay, India. The blade sweep is of 56 inches (1422mm); the voltage is 220 volts, AC, 50 hertz. Height is 23 inches (including rod); total unpacked weight is 15 kgs. The spherical shape of the motor inspired the name “Ball Fan”. This is over 75 years old Fan, it has been tested and is working perfectly. The paint flakes off because of brittleness due to age. A cosmetic restoration by stripping off the old paint and repainting it, should make it look good. The motor will be carefully packed with inserts along with the three dismantled aluminium blades.
