Circa 1914 12 GE SMY Desk Fan. Complimenting the BMY design, GE offered a smaller motor with its Smaller Motor held in place by a Yoke. Ideal for the collector who loves to tinker and feel rewarded for their work, this example will make an ideal daily running fan. Motor/yoke appear to retain their original finish while the base displays as having had a “refreshing” at some point in the last 109 years. Wiring will need to be upgraded. Brass blades and parallel ring cage showcase a rich patina. Fan operates on 3 speeds as intended. Blade requires some minimal balancing for smooth operation.
