Antique GE Fan 16 circa 1901
A perfect example of American industrial age ingenuity where things were built solidly and meant to last and they do. This is a 16 BYM (Big Yoke Motor) Brass blade fan and cage. Base is cast iron, Brass cage and blades… Solid in every way. A total ground up restoration. All original parts except for the oiler wicks and power cord. Armature and stator degreased and polished. Windings stabilized with winding lacquer. New wired head in, switch body, terminals and cloth 18-2 power cord 6′ long. Original base cover (Pictured). Oilers degreased and polished. All parts were de-rusted, primed, with 2 coats finish enamel black semi-gloss. This fan runs great. Hours of tedious work went into. In this restoration but it was a labor of love and not profit as the price reflects. Note: I never lacquer antique brass as it makes it difficult on the next guy years down the road. So if it dulls over time, a simple hand polishing will bring the shine right back. The item “Antique GE Fan 16 circa 1901″ is in sale since Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
