It has a unique industrial type design and it is fascinating to watch the fan in operation. In the early 1900s oscillating fans were just being developed. The air flow on the lollipop disc inside the cage forced the disc to swing to the other side and hence rotate the fan. Three different swing arcs can be set on the base. The fan runs strong and smooth at a single speed. The speed changer would need repair for lower speed operation. The fan is mostly all original. This model uses a 12 inch fan blade and is rated 105-120 VAC. The paint is original but appears to have been touched up in some smaller areas. The brass blades, fan cage, and oscillator brass have all been cleaned up along with the two name tags which have been restored. When I got it the fan the cage didn’t fit quite square so a spacer piece was added to the cage support bracket at 7 o’clock A new electrical chord and plug were added and new wicks used in the oil feed cups. I made and added three rubber support feet but I later bought correct feet replicas which will be be enclosed.
