This is a very handsome large desk fan manufactured by British Thomson-Houston in Rugby. It’s a striking piece of functional art deco design. I’d imagine it dates from the 1930s – 1950s period. It’s certainly pre 1960, when the brand name BTH was dropped. This particular lamp is in very good original condition. It works perfectly well in all 3 gears, and oscillates smoothly as well. As it’s in original condition, there are various imperfections to the paintwork and some scratches to the brass. That said, there’s nothing that overly draws the eye and it’s perfectly in keeping with its age.
