This offering is for an original vintage General Electric Oscillating Three Speed Electric Fan in excellent all original and untouched condition. The tag on top states in part ALTERNATING CURRENT FAN MOTOR No. 823674 VOLTS 110 CYCLES 60 PAT JUNE 25 1901 GENERAL ELECTRIC CO USA. The fan features four brass blades with a brass cage and brass supports. The fan is also marked “GE” in large script on the brass tag on the front of the cage. The fan measures app. 16 in overall height to the top of the cage, the blades measure app. 12 in diameter and the cage measures app. The brass has not been cleaned or polished in years and we will leave the decision to do so or not to the new owner. The fan runs on all three speed settings with a distinct difference of speeds between them, however, setting 2 runs slower than 1 or 3. There is a minor wobble in the blades when it first starts but most of it seems to settle down quickly once it’s running. The oscillator does not seem to work or at the very least I’m not doing something right with it. The fan will slowly oscillate as long as you help is along but it stops as soon as you quite giving it a light push. The head cord has been badly taped and needs to be replaced. The main cord is fairly nice but is starting to get a little brittle so if you plan on using the fan I would recommend you replace them both. I would certainly think the fan should have a complete cleaning prior to your actually planning on using it. The black painted finish has some typical scattered wear notable to the back side of the motor and to the base edge rim. Also note that the paint is quite worn on the oscillator housing.. If additional photo’s are needed or you have need of answers to questions we do not address we will be happy to supply them. WE USUALLY SEND OUR INVOICE WITHIN 1 HOUR OF THE AUCTIONS ENDING.
